New Substation Delays at Broomlees Farm
The works to install the new substation at Broomlees Farm have been delayed due to a number of unforeseen circumstances. This included storm Babet which caused major damage to overhead electrical network, this resulted in SPEN teams being deployed to carry out emergency repairs to the electrical network and restore customers supplies.
The Broomlees works are still work in progress, The new substation is in position and over a 1000 meters of new cable is laid.
An electrical outage was planned for the 9th November. This couldn’t take place for the reasons noted above, and will be rescheduled. It is now expected to happen after the festive period.
When the outage details and dates and times are known, CKCC will be notified. The information will be posted on this site and shared with other community channels.
Residents affected will al receive an individual letter detailing the Date and Time their power supply will be interrupted, this letter will be posted out at least 10 day’s prior to the outage day, giving everyone around 8 days’ notice.
