Topics Raised and Discussed
- A review by Transport for Scotland of the traffic situation in Colinsburgh.
- Bollards had been lost near the library in Colinsburgh
- The potential for a North route bypass and car park round Colinsburgh. This would require a dedicated group if it is ever to come to fulfilment
- Potential car park near the Village Hall in Colinsburgh.
- It was pointed out that a serious accident, deemed to be inevitable if drastic change is not forthcoming soon, would expedite matters.
- It was suggested that the junction of the ‘A’ road to Elie with the ‘B’ road to Colinsburgh be re-signed or, preferably, re-designed.
- The current situation places at considerable risk children, disabled, elderly, animals and all pedestrians.
- Large commercial vehicles have been seen on unsuitable ‘C’ roads.
- The road through Colinsburgh is in urgent need of resurfacing.
- It was confirmed that the CKCC website has an automatic update facility.
- The meeting discussed the situation of Kilconquhar having no available meeting space once the Kirk is sold.
- A speculative discussion took place about the fate of the Kirk building once sold as the surrounding kirkyard is not part of the Kirk template and remains a live cemetery. It was also pointed out that it contains a maintained war grave.
- The committee agreed to approach the Castle authorities regarding the possibility of the village being allowed free access to their meeting rooms after normal business hours and by arrangement.
- A request came from the floor for an occasional meeting to be held other than in the evening. The committee undertook to give this consideration.
- It was agreed that progress needed to be made on what happened next, where and how.
