Following the public consultation by Kirkwood Housing at Colinsburgh Town Hall
regarding the Proposed Residential Development, there was a meeting of CKCC.
Discussed at CKCC meeting 25 Nov 2022
Several Colinsburgh residents attended and generated much discussion regarding the consultation. Anyone who has yet to comment on the draft proposal is urged to do so by visiting http://www.kirkwood.colinsburgh.co.uk.
Email comments can be sent to ewan@emacplanning.co.uk.
Points Raised
Among the issues raised at both the Consultation event and the Community Council were:
- acknowledgement of the positive impact on the school and local businesses
- concerns regarding the siting of the proposed access road to the development
particularly regarding the danger to children if there was a through road. A cul-de-sac was felt to be a better option both for safety and to avoid overspill parking on Fairfield Road and Mayfield Terrace. - concerns regarding the potential number of vehicles which would be expected for a 50 home development and which would be using the access road and the possibilities of congestion.
- concerns regarding the kick ball area which is proposed at an enlarged park (when there is a football park already)
The architects and developers are required to take on board our comments before deciding if the proposal is a viable one. If that is the case and a planning application is submitted to Fife Council at a later date CKCC will:
- request to become a statutory consultee
- hold at least one development specific meeting to gather views and outline the Community Council’s role as a statutory consultee
- support residents to write Fife Council with their comments, objections or approvals for the application.
As more information becomes available, we will add or link to updates here.
